learnt a lesson to buy original!
I would normally look to buy cartridges on ecommerce sites. Even though there is an HP reseller 100 mts from where I live, that reseller doesn't accept credit card! Anyways, I bought one from Amazon before our current cartridge was exhausted. That cartridge turned out to be a dud when I used it and the window for return was also expired.
So I turned to HP for a cartridge and had a very pleasant experience. I got a call back and link for payment. The cartridge was delivered the very next day and it was authentic and was able to verify the code on it as well.
